OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2014. Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC)revealed that Incheon International Airport won 1st place in Navigation Safety Facility Satisfaction Survey, evaluated by pilots in airlines around the world, for 5 years in a row.

The survey was conducted by Korea Institute for Industrial Research from September 17 to 30 on some 1,000 pilots from airlines that operate in Incheon International Airport. Pilots evaluated on 13 items, including 3areas on navigation safety facilities (Aeronautical IT, Instrument landing and VOR, and ALS facilities), and Incheon Airport was placed the 1st with the score of 89.76 out of hundred, followed by Changi Airport of Singapore and Kansai International Airport of Japan.

With itsoutstanding facility, infrastructure and operational ability, Incheon Airport’s navigation safety facilities have been recognized for its excellence, recording 100,000 hours of non-stop operation in October 2013, and this year Incheon Airport is with 120,000 hours just around the corner in December.In addition, facilities were improved to allow departure and arrival with the runway visual range just 75m and operating procedure was changed from November 2011, reducing some 135 flight delays and cancelations a year.

Incheon International Airport’s navigation system is equipped with around-the-clock field operation system to provide the best navigation safety service by the expert group, who is responsible for system development, management, and operation. And the navigation safety facilities installed at the time of its opening is to be updated to the latest version by 2017 to further enhance the level of service.
