OREANDA-NEWS. St. Petersburg General Motors plant began the SKD assembly of three models of Cadillac - sedans Cadillac CTS and ATS, as well as the crossover SRX. The spokesman of Opel brand in Russia, Konstantin Korostiv, informed about it the agency "TASS", by adding that currently the plant GM-Auto produces six models - Opel Astra, Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Trailblazer, as well as Cadillac CTS, SRX and ATS in all trim levels.

Assembling of the CTS and SRX models previously was conducted under contract at Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" and ATS sedan in Russia was not made. Planned production at the St. Petersburg enterprise was not disclosed. This year, the conveyor was stopped several times to bring the production in line with declining market demand. Then plant parted with 500 of workers and it started to work in one shift. Now the number of the company workers is 1500 people, with the office staff.

In 2015, GM plans to start in St. Petersburg the SKD assembly of Cadillac Escalade SUV and Chevrolet Tahoe of new generation.
