OREANDA-NEWS. Gazprom is recognized the best Russian energy company in the climate performance index of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

The index revealed Gazprom's high performance in climate change reduction. The Company is committed to lessening the greenhouse gas emissions, managing climate change risks as well as promoting the transparency of information in this area. Gazprom has been in the list of CDP respondents since 2009.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a non-profit organization embracing over 700 international institutional investors with assets exceeding USD 90 trillion. CDP holds the largest collection of primary climate change information worldwide and puts these insights at the heart of investment decisions.

The CDP members set a list of over 5 thousand companies from 48 countries. The list of respondents also includes Russian business entities (CDP participants) which fill in CDP's standard questionnaire. Later, CDP's auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young sum up the results.
