OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2014. According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways' network loaded 103.1 million tons in November 2014, 0.3% less than in November 2013.

Freight turnover in November 2014 increased by 3.2% compared to November 2013 and totalled 195.8 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover including empty wagon runs in the same month increased by 2.9% to 250.4 billion ton-km.

According to the latest figures, loading in January-November 2014 amounted to 1.1239 billion tons, 0.9% less than during the same period in 2013.

In January-November 2014, the railways shipped the following goods. Figures in brackets show the percentage change compared to in January-November 2013.

coal – 286.5 m tons (+1.6% at January-November 2013);

coke – 10.8 m tons (+2.9%);

oil and petroleum products – 233.7 m tons (+2.8%);

iron and manganese ores – 99.7 m tons (-2%);

ferrous metals – 65.4 m tons (+2.2%);

ferrous metal scrap – 15.3 m tons (-0.1%);

chemical and mineral fertilisers – 45.1 m tons (+6%);

cement – 30.5 m tons (-6.6%);

timber – 35.3 m tons (+8.1%);

grain and milled products – 16.2 m tons (+34%);

construction materials – 131.9 m tons (-17.8%);

non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock – 17.8 m tons (-6.6%);

chemicals and soda – 23.2 m tons (-3%);

industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 32.9 m tons (+5.3%).

Freight turnover since the beginning of 2014 amounted to 2,099.5 billion tariff ton-km, an increase of 5.1%, while freight turnover including empty wagon runs was up 5.5% to 2,699 billion ton-km.
