According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways' infrastructure carried 86.1 million passengers in November 2014, 1.3% less than during the same period last year. Suburban commuters amounted to 78.5 million, a fall of 0.7%, and long-distance passengers fell 7.6% to 7.6 million.

Passenger turnover in November 2014 amounted to 8.92 billion passenger-kilometres, 8.1% less than during the same period of 2013.

In January-November 2014, the network carried 986.5 million passengers, down 0.5% compared to January-November 2013. Suburban passenger numbers rose 0.2% to 891.2 million, while long-distance passengers fell 6.9% to 95.4 million.

Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways' network since the beginning of 2014 fell by 7% compared to last year and amounted to 119.7 billion passenger-kilometres.
