OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2014. Members of Republican information group have held a meeting with the staff of the Cultural Center "Alatau" to explain the main provisions of the President's Address to the Nation "Nyrly Zhol - The path to the Future" in Almaty.

Kazakh Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev noted that specific projects are laid down in the Address. The first step has already been taken in February 2014 by the Head of State, when it was decided to allocate one trillion tenge from the National Fund to support economic growth and employment in 2014-2015. The second step - a new economic policy "Nyrly Zhol" for implementation of which 3 billion dollars will be allocated from the National Fund annually for the period 2015-2017.

"What kind of new economic policy "Nyrly Zhol" will be? Firstly, as President said, it will be counter-cyclical. In short, it means increasing state spending during periods of economic slowdown and containment during periods of high economic activity. Secondly, a new economic policy will focus on further structural reforms in our economy: increase in competitiveness, productivity, improvement of the economy structure and its ability to produce new products and services. Therefore, new investment from the National Fund will be used for further transformation of economy. Primarily it is the development of transport, energy, industrial and social infrastructure, small and medium-sized businesses," Y.Dossayev said.

In turn, akim of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov noted that economy of metropolis is actively growing under the Head of State’s support.

"Due to measures that have been developed by the state, a small and medium business is developing in the city. It was provided by allocation of 100 billion tenge on support of this sector. Over 10 months of this year SME loans have increased by 44.5% in Almaty. The share of SMEs in the tax base of the city is 68.6%," A. Yessimov said.

Also at the meeting, it was noted that Almaty Akimat has developed infrastructure development map for 2015-2017 within the framework of the President's Address. It includes priority investment projects in tourism, transport, social, communal and energy infrastructures.
