OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow – Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and Ryazan Region government have signed an agreement on cooperation in telecom sector development. As a part of the document Tele2 is planning to invest over 820 mn rubles into development of the region’s mobile infrastructure in 2015-2018.

The agreement has been signed by Ryazan Region Governor, head of the regional government’s central office Sergey Samokhin and Tele2 CEO Mikhail Noskov.

The signing of the document is aimed at boosting network rollouts in different districts of Ryazan Region. The technical development project implies construction of new base stations and upgrading facilities of the current network infrastructure, which also includes preparations for 3G and 4G launch.

As a part of the agreement the operator is planning mutual initiatives in social sphere. Thus, signing of the document is solving important tasks of the region in telecom sector development and support for socially oriented projects.

The volume of investments into the region’s economy under the 2015−2018 agreement will exceed 820 mn rubles.

“The Ryazan Region government is seeking to develop all economic and business spheres including telecommunications sector. The region needs to upgrade the mobile infrastructure and boost penetration of affordable voice services and wireless Internet including remote areas of the region. We consider Tele2 as promising and reliable partner, cooperation with whom is targeted at implementation of these high-priority tasks.”

The signing of the agreement on cooperation in telecom sector with the Ryazan Region government shows how the Tele2 strategy is translated into action. It also implies working out efficient mechanisms of cooperation with local authorities. The company earlier sealed agreements with the governments of certain regions including Tula, Smolensk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Nizhniy Novgorod, Vologda, Bryansk regions.
