OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2014. Online media once again claimed the top position in the 2014 Pertamina Journalism Award (AJP) following the announcement that Renni Susilowati from beritajatim.com was selected as the best of the best winner.
 
The selection of Renni, with her work titled “Indonesia’s Oil and Gas, Is There Still Hope?” as the best of the best winner was the second time for online media journalist in two years in a row, after Ariestia from tribun.pekanbaru.com last year, to claim the highest award in AJP. Renni would get the opportunity to join journalism course in Europe in addition to getting Ro 40 million in cash.
 
The 2014 Pertamina Journalism Award, with the theme of “Pertamina is Indonesia”, had resulted three winners respectively for seven categories and one best of the best winner. Besides that, this year, Pertamina gave awards to 25 winners of favorite photos.
 
Pertamina Corporate Communication Vice President Ali Mundakir revealed that from year to year, the AJP had improved not only in quantity, but also in the quality of works selected. This year, as many as 978 journalism works from national and local media outlets participated in various categories.
 
“We’re very proud with the selection and judgment process that was very tight and was conducted by board of juries so it resulted 47 best journalism works from 978 reviewed. Thus, we can ensure that the AJP can continue its tradition as a prestigious national journalism competition,” Ali said.
 
“We also congratulate all winners especially the winner of the best of the best category. We hope that those works can inspire other journalists to contribute in improving the quality of information in the energy sector so we can have objective and independent journalism works,” he added.
 
Ali was aware that media support was essential in the open and transparent era. As a state-owned company that had been listed in Fortune 500 and managed US\\$70 billion worth businesses in a  year, Pertamina was very committed to and supported the openness spirit which among others had been proven by GCG score of 94.3.
 
With the business environment that demanded competitiveness including in the context of the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, Pertamina would continue to innovate, improve performance and expand business portfolio abroad so that the people could continue to have hope for Pertamina to be the pride of the nation and the back bone of the national energy security in the future.
 
“Pertamina’s commitment to Indonesia is in the next five or six year, Indonesia can be energy self-sufficient. Thus, we need full support from all national stakeholders for Pertamina to be able to achieve its aspirations,” Ali emphasized.
