Pertamina Ensures Subsidy Received Intended Targets
OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2014. The implementation of Survey Card for distributing subsidized diesel fuel for fishermen and vehicles in Tarakan had been successfully decreased consumption by around 12%.
Pertamina Trading and Marketing director Hanung said the implementation of the survey card was the company’s initiative to ensure that subsidized diesel fuel was distributed to the right targets. According to him, the implementation of the survey card in Tarakan was part of similar programs that had been successfully implemented in other parts of the country.
Hanung revealed that the Survey Card was implemented in Tarakan since 18 July 2014 and currently had covered 2,909 units of vehicles and 974 ships. Since its implementation, he continued, the Survey Card had helped reduce the consumption of subsidized diesel fuel by 12%.
“Before the implementation of the Survey Card, the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel was around 925 KL per day, after the implementation, the distribution fell to 825 KL per day. Seeing this positive result, we’re committed to continue the implementation of the Survey Card around the country,” Hanung explained amid his visit to Tarakan, Nunukan and Sebatik, (Saturday (22/11).
He explained that the Survey Card was used to know the real volume and the pattern of subsidized diesel fuel consumption for fishermen and vehicles in Tarakan. In addition to that, the Survey Card was also utilized to complete data on vehicles and fishermen ships that were eligible to get subsidized diesel fuel. That data was then used as database to calculate the accurate quota of subsidized diesel fuel.
“The Survey Card could be obtained for free at gas stations or APMS or SPDN. Without the Survey Card, consumers cannot buy subsidized diesel fuels at gas stations. The purchase of diesel fuel is limited at Rp 200,000 per day,” he said.
The success of the Survey Card in Tarakan was also because of full support from the Tarakan City Government through the Tarakan Mayor Letter and recommendation for the Marine and Fishery Agency of Tarakan for fishermen. With that kind of support, the use of the Survey Card was believed to run well and bring optimum result in other areas.
In addition to Tarakan City, other areas that had successfully implemented the Survey Card were Belitung Regency, Tarakan Regency, Bintan Regency and Tanjung Pinang City and Batam, that had transformed into Fuel Card. Pertamina was committed to continued develop the implementation of the Survey Card in other areas that had similar characteristic as Tarakan City like Bali and all areas in Java.
