Arseniy Yatsenyuk appointed PM of Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. On Thursday, November 27, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported Arseniy Yatsenyuk as Prime Minister of Ukraine.
A submission on the appointment of Arseniy Yatsenyuk as the Head of the Government was forwarded to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko by the established today coalition of parliamentary factions. The President proposed to the Parliament to second the nomination of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. This decision was supported by 341 MPs.
Speaking from the parliamentary rostrum before the vote Arseniy Yatsenyuk said, "It is hard to create history. We are facing the heaviest burden - the burden of historical responsibility to save the state and to claim our independence. Our country is at war, people are suffering from hardships, and it depends on us, whether we will stop the aggression".
He stressed that Ukraine faced "the Russian military invasion", "It is nothing but an encroachment on the territorial integrity and independence, an attempt to destroy Ukraine. One can fight against an army and, perhaps, an army can be defeated. But it is impossible to defeat the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian nation".
Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, "Honored Mr. President! You have my consent to implement everything You have said from the rostrum. It is our joint responsibility."
After voting by the Verkhovna Rada for the nomination of Arseniy Yatsenyuk as the Prime Minister he urged "to immediately engage on formation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine", "2015 will be more difficult than 2014. Everything depends on us. Go ahead, get down to work".
