OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2014. This was announced by the Romanian President at the public Moldovan television, stressing that Romania this year became the largest trade partner of Moldova on the background of the embargo imposed by Russia for the Moldovan agricultural products.

Klaus Johannis noted that there are also excellent prospects for the further increase of dynamics of bilateral trade of both countries with regard to Pro-European landmarks of Moldova and the creation of a free trade area with the EU. As it was reported before, the Embassy of Romania in Moldova, the volume of trade between Moldova and Romania for 9 months of 2014 increased by 24%- up to USD1.2 billion.

Thus, in January-September 2014, in comparison with the same period of the last year, the export of Moldovan goods to Romania increased by 19,67%- up to USD 367,51 million, while imports of Romanian products in Moldova increased by 25,62% up to USD 832 million. According to Romanian statistics, for 9 months of 2014, Moldova took 4th place in the trade with Romania with the countries outside the EU.

As of late September 2014, in Romania were registered 4374 of Moldovan-Romanian enterprises, total investment in Romania made up USD 43,14 million. According to the Bucharest trade of Moldova and Romania in 2013 amounted to USD 1 billion 135 million, exceeding 15.2% the previous year.

At the same time, the export of Moldovan goods to Romania increased by 3.5%-up to USD 413 million, while sales of the Romanian products in Moldova increased 23.2%- up to USD 722 million.
