OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2014. 90% of Kazakhstan students are not planning to enter the education institution of technical and vocational education. This has been reported by Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov, speaking at the VI International Forum "Professional Education and Business: partners’ dialogue" in Astana .

"According to the results of the survey it was revealed that 90% of students do not plan to enter the system of technical and vocational education, 17% of college students do not link their future with the acquisition of a specialty," A. Sarinzhipov informed.

One of the reasons, he says, is the lack of high-quality vocational guidance, motivation to acquire working profession, mismatch between training personnel and labor market needs.

"Only 0.03% of the companies have training centers, indicating low-tech production or improper certification of workspaces by employers," Minister added.

Employment of graduates in technical and vocational education has increased by 10% and makes 70.5%.

According to him, at present time memoranda of cooperation are concluded between colleges, region boards of education, enterprises, the National Chamber of entrepreneurs and regional chambers of entrepreneurs. For example, more than 26 thousand agreements have already been concluded with enterprises, about 2 thousand out of them - under the dual training.

"As a result of measures taken, positive change in one of the major issues in technical and vocational education is observed - employment of graduates in the specialty has increased by 10%, it is 70.5%. In addition, competitive selection is observed in the employment of 7 people for one position in certain specialties," A. Sarinzhipov said.
