OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2014. Every year more than half of high school graduates in the southern regions remain without work. It was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdybek Saparbayev, speaking at the VI International Forum "Professional Education and Business: Partners’ Dialogue" in Astana.

"According to our sources, every year more than half of high school graduates in the southern regions remain without work, while our northern and eastern regions do not have enough manpower," B. Saparbayev said.

According to him, the government is working on the issue of the direction of workers and specialists from the southern provinces to the northern and eastern regions of the country.

"One of the most important issues of the day - the definition of demand forecast. We are working over this issue jointly with the National Chamber of entrepreneurs," B. Saparbayev said.

He also added that six regions and 10 colleges have been determined for today where personnel training will be carried out in accordance with today’s requirements.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdybek Saparbayev instructed the MES to increase the number of students in colleges of the dual system up to 50%.

"The main thing is that we need to prepare those specialists which are necessary for our economy and appropriate for the employers requirements in the first place," B. Saparbayev said, speaking at the VI International Forum "Professional Education and Business: partners’ dialogue" in Astana.

According to him, Ministry of Education and Social Development has been instructed to draw up the needs in personnel by specialties in the near future.

"We are working with our large national companies, such as: "Samruk-Kazyna", "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", "Kazatomprom", "Kazzinc", "Kazakhmys", "Pavlodar Chemical Plant", but there are not so many companies, so Ministry in cooperation with the National Chamber of entrepreneurs needs to revitalize the work with other companies with respect to training," B. Saparbayev added.

He also said that the government together with the National Chamber of entrepreneurs has prepared a roadmap of the dual education system.

"There is a task before the ministries and other government agencies - to raise the number of colleges working on this system to 50 % by 2017. As of today 280 colleges operate in this system, it is about 34% of the total number of colleges of our country," B. Saparbayev summed up.
