Executive Director of AmCham Kyrgyzstan Vacancy Announced
OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2014. The American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic (AmCham) is seeking a strongly motivated, dedicated professional for the full-time position of Executive Director.
The person manages the relevant aspects of the organization's program and strategy development, including advocacy, fundraising, research and coalition-building as well as develop a strong membership basis, identify marketing tools to promote the image and mission of the Chamber. QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education: Master's degree in any discipline of business administration, public administration or social sciences
Experience:Professional experience with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business, project management, experience with research projects, including project design, project scheduling, and contract administration
Skills:
Strong leadership and analytical skills, including fundraising
Effective interpersonal skills, proactive communication and team-building skills;
Strong fund-raising skills
Ability to create and maintain solid networks with local, regional and international contacts in the private and public sectors.
Ability to work equally successfully both independently and in team and to maintain regular and frequent contact with Board of Directors
Ability to handle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
Ability to work successfully under pressure and deal properly with unexpected issues
Computer literacy and ability to use standard software (MS Word, Excel, database, Power Point) required.
Fluency in English and Russian is required. Kyrgyz will be an asset.
The Executive Director shall report to the Board of Directors of the Chamber and perform the following duties:
Oversee all management and strategic planning aspects of the organization, including advocacy, fundraising, research, commercial service and organizing support for appropriate policy changes;
Collaborate with Board Members to prepare both long term and short term strategies for achieving goals and objectives;
Cultivate and maintain contacts with AmChams in other CIS countries and AmCham headquarters in the U.S.
Work with AmCham Board Members and AmCham staff to plan and execute a schedule of events to benefit members
Be responsible for undertaking of all types of internal and external liaison
Establish and maintain cooperation with governmental agencies and business associations
Maintain and increase membership base;
Expand business sector representation.
Search for funding from donors to pursue programmatic activities and establish sound partnership with funding organizations
Cultivate and maintain contacts with AmChams throughout global network, Chamber headquarter in the U.S.
Foster creative U.S.-Kyrgyz commercial collaboration;
Develop and maintain contacts and relationships; managing local
staff and sub-contractors.
Prepare annual budget and quarterly budget as well as long term financial plans.
Review local accounting reports and comply with local accounting requirements.
Other duties as required
Start-date for the position December 2014 or as soon as possible.
