OREANDA-NEWS. Due to the unstable situation in the heavy truck market and to avoid the overstocking of finished products, KAMAZ stopped the production of trucks until the end of this week. Thus, on November 26th and 27th were announced at KAMAZ as days of downtime with payment in the amount of two-thirds of the average wage. Also, in accordance with the order of the four-day work week, November 28th is a day off.

As noted at KAMAZ, these measures will save more than 57 million Rubles, to ensure the fulfillment of social obligations to the workforce and to contribute to the preservation of financial stability in the face of declining market.

However, the days of downtime will be used to modernize the production and installation of new equipment in the framework of the program "Reengineering". There will be also work on the development of the new model range.

Regular schedule will continue to work Units that are engaged in sale and shipment of commercial products, manufacture of spare parts, bus chassis and product diversification, as well as part of the personnel that is serving continuously the operating production in an amount necessary to maintain them in standby mode, the operation of life support systems and property safety.
