Turkey-Japan Business Forum has been held in Istanbul by Nikkei Business Publications (Nikkei BP) and Nikkei Mutlu Dergi Grubu in order to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In the forum where the topics of infrastructure, energy efficiency and innovation in production along with the 2023 vision of Turkey have been covered, contributions of Japanese companies to the improvement of Turkish Economy were also mentioned.

The forum, in which Vice Prime Minister, Ali Babacan, made the opening speech, Chairman of Calik Holding, Ahmet Calik, also made a speech titled "Collective Expansion to the Emerging Markets and the Strategy of Calik Group.

Organized by Nikkei Business Publications (Nikkei BP) and Nikkei Mutlu Dergi Grubu within the frame of the 90th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan and supported by Calik Holding, Turkey-Japan Business Forum titled "Collaboration Path Between Turkey and Japan in the 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Turkish Republic" was held on Tuesday, November the 25th at Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel.

Opening speeches of the forum were made by Vice Prime Minister, Ali Babacan, Ankara Ambassador of Japan, Yutaka Yokoi and Kohei Osada, the President of Nikkei Business Publications which operates worldwide covering Japanese-based economy, technology and commerce news. During the speeches, possibilities for versatile improvements to the collaboration between Turkey and Japan within the objective of Turkey reaching its 2023 vision were covered.

Senior managers of some Turkish and Japanese companies who are part of great businesses within the international platforms have also participated in the Turkey-Japan Business Forum. In the session titled "Seeking New Job Opportunities", Chairman of Calik Holding, Ahmet Calik made a speech on "Collective Expansion to the Emerging Markets and the Strategy of Our Company."

Chairman of Calik Holding, Ahmet Calik who establishes successful business deals with Japanese companies in the Middle Asia and the Middle East, strongly emphasized in his speech that Turkey is a significant strategic partner for Japan.

Mr. Calik continued his words by indicating that Turkey and Japan have greater potential in the sense of business which could be carried out in the third party countries and he also stated that there are profitable business opportunities for both sides in this area.

Mr. Calik stated that the relationship between Turkey and Japan is also in favor of both governmental and private sectors and continued his speech by saying "I believe it is of vital importance that there should be more alignments and partnerships on both technology and R&D projects between Turkey and Japan within Eurasia."Mr. Calik mentioned the cultural similarities with Japanese companies and said that "It is an important element that we have similar cultural closeness along with mutual trust, respect and love. Thanks to the contribution of this element, we have never experienced controversy in our business deals."

During Turkey -Japan Business Forum, it was mentioned that in order for Turkey to reach its goal of being among the top ten economies in the world with a 500 billion exportation in 2023, in which the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic will be celebrated, the importance of the following titles were emphasized; reaching new energy sources, efficiency of available resources, development of R&D in the process of economical construction directed to the exportation and strengthening the innovative side of the manufacturing industry.
