OREANDA-NEWS.  December 01, 2014. These findings are indicated in the financial report by Inter RAO UES, which, among other enterprises, includes Moldovan Hydropower Plant, situated in the region of Transnistria.

In the same period of the past year, the sales revenue of the plant was RUB 3 billion 073 million. The increase recorded during the first 9 months of 2014 is explained by the transition to the generation of energy from natural gas. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of the company soared 5.6 times from RUB 205 million in January-September, 2013 to RUB 1 billion 149 million n the same period of 2014, the report says. Such a high growth in EBIDTA is explained by higher volumes of electricity sold and by a lower fuel costs resulting from the company’s transition to natural gas.

As InfoMarket said earlier, over the first 9 months of 2014 against the same period of 2013, Moldovan Hydropower Plant increased power generation 39% to 2 billion 799 million kWh. The fuel balance of the plant included the gas share of 99.82%, the coal share of 0.14% and the black oil share of 0.04%.

Last year, the shares were 64.7%, 35% and 0.3% respectively. In 2013 the sales revenue of Moldovan Hydropower Plant reduced 28.2% to RUB 4 billion 655 million. EBITDA shrank 2.8 times to RUB 534 million. Moldovan Hydropower Plant entered Inter RAO UES Group in 2005. Inter RAO UES is an electric power corporation, exporting and importing electricity and controlling a number of generating and distributing energy assets in Russia and abroad.
