Commencing Construction of Plant for Gas Malaysia Energy Advance
OREANDA-NEWS. GAS MALAYSIA ENERGY ADVANCE Sdn. Bhd. jointly founded by Energy Advance Co., Ltd., which is a 100% financed subsidiary of Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., and Gas Malaysia Bhd has concluded a contract with regard to energy services with Toray Group (Malaysia ), which is a financed subsidiary of Toray Industries Inc., Japan and commenced construction of an energy plant. This project is the first energy service business carried out by Gas Malaysia Energy Advance.
Energy service is a service in which an energy service operator, in a lump and in an efficient manner, provides heat, electricity, and the like generated by use of gas cogeneration systems, boilers, and other facilities for air conditioning and water treatment so as to solve various problems related to energy for the client.
In the energy service of this project, Gas Malaysia Energy Advance will install a 32-MW class gas turbine cogeneration system which uses natural gas as fuel procured from Gas Malaysia (two 16 -MW turbines with reheating boilers) in the premises of Toray Group (Malaysia) to provide electricity and steam. Gas Malaysia Energy Advance is responsible for all the phases of the project, from system design, construction, and procurement of fuel to facility maintenance and will receive energy service charges from Toray Group (Malaysia). By introducing this service, Toray Group (Malaysia) will be able to reduce the energy costs, the energy by approximately 20%, and the CO2 emission by approximately 30% with small amount of investment in new facilities.
According to the plan, the period in which electricity and steam will be supplied is to be 15 years starting from 2016.
The Tokyo Gas Group contributes to provide energy solutions to customers developing business in Southeast Asia and North America, and to build local energy infrastructure, making use of group's total energy business technology and know-how. In addition, we intend to challenge for a development of the value chain in foreign countries through the alliances with local energy companies and other entities.
