Kazakhstan, Belarus to Implement Mutual & Transit Traffics
OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2014. The draft law "On the Protocol ratification amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on international road transport from January 19, 2004" has been approved at the plenary session of Majilis of Kazakh Parliament.
"For today transportation with the Republic of Belarus are regulated by intergovernmental Agreement on international road transport. Under the agreement, signed in Astana in 2004, export and import transit transportation, as well as transportation from or to Third Countries, are carried out on licensing base.
Within the framework of the Protocol on Amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement, it is proposed to establish permit-system of bilateral and transit traffic implementation," First Deputy Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek said submitting the bill.
Zhenis Kasymbek noted that transportation from or to third countries will be carried out on the basis of permits issued by the competent authorities of the parties.
In his words, 9 out of 12 thousand trips of Kazakhstan trucking companies to Europe and from Europe are carried out through Belarus.
