Metalloinvest Delivers Steel Products for Bridge in Western Siberia
OREANDA-NEWS. A bridge across the Vakh river connecting the Tomsk region and Yugra has been opened. Ural Steel (part of Metalloinvest) delivered steel products for the largest transport infrastructure project in the region. The bridge connects Strezhevoy town with Nizhnevartovsk and is a part of one of the main sections of a motorway in Western Siberia. The bridge is 7.9 km long and has a capacity of 8,000 vehicles a day.
Natalya Komarova, Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, commented at the opening ceremony: "The bridge will facilitate the growth of business cooperation and the development of new industrial sites".
Metalloinvest is the largest producer and supplier of high-quality steel to Russian bridge builders. In recent years, many key structures in Russia were built using Ural Steel products. This is a confirmation of the high quality of the enterprise's products and reliability of its supplies. Apart from the bridge across Vakh river, Metalloinvest delivered steel for the construction of a 895-meter bridge across the Oka river in Nizhniy Novgorod; a 3,100-meter bridge to Russky Island in Vladivostok; and a 2,000-meter Bugrinsky bridge in Novosibirsk. The Company's products were also used in the construction of infrastructure for the Sochi Olympics, including Fisht Olympic Stadium).
