OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2014. At the same time, in natural terms, the purchase increased 1.5% to 2 billion 909.5 million kWh, the National Energy Regulatory Agency said.

In monetary terms, the purchase increased 12.6% to MDL 524.6 million at RED Nord; 1.3% to MDL 252.1 million at RED Nord-Vest and 6.2% to MDL 2 billion 197.3 million at RED Union Fenosa. In natural terms, RED Nord bought from abroad 498.5 million kWh, up 4.5% against the same period of 2013; RED Nord-Vest purchased 260.5 million kWh, up 1.6% versus Q1 2013; RED Union Fenosa bought 2 billion 150.5 million kWh, up 0.8%.

In the reporting period, inner producers sold Moldova’s networks 495.3 million kWh, 1.9% down as compared to the same period of the last year. In particular, 101.7 million kWh was sold to RED Nord (up 18.8%); 34 million kWh were bought by RED Nord-Vest (down 23.1%) and 359.6 million kWh were purchased by RED Union Fenosa, down 4.1%. In value terms, the purchases from inner power producers amounted to MDL 702.8 million, down 5.5% against the same period of the past year.

In particular, RED Nord bought from domestic power producers power at an amount of MDL 148.4 million (up 17.7%); RED Nord-Vest purchased power amounting to MDL 37.4 million (down 42.3%);RED Union Fenosa’s inner purchases were MDL 516.9 million ( down 6.4%). At the same time, within the reporting period, the power imports increased 2.2% to 2 billion 414.2 million kWh.

In particular, the imports increased by 1.4% to 396.8 million kWh at RED Nord; by 6.8% to 226.5 million kWh at RED Nord-Vest and by 1.8% to 1 billion 790.9 million kWh at RED Union Fenosa. In value terms, the imports totalled MDL 2 billion 271.3 million, up 11.3%. In particular, RED Nord increased the import by 10.7% to MDL 376.2 million; the import by RED Nord-Vest grew 16.6% to 214.7 million and RED Union Fenosa imported 10.8% more power amounting to MDL 1 billion 680.3 million.

It should be reminded that electricity generated by energy enterprises of Moldova, Transdniestria excluded, namely Chisinau heating stations 1 and 2, Heating Station Nord and Costesti Hydropower Plant, is enough to meet one third of Moldova’s power needs. The missing volumes are imported from Ukraine and Moldovan Hydropower Plant (Transdniestria).
