In terms of value, the purchase increased 3.6% to MDL 3 billion 405.2 million, which was mostly determined by the cheapening of the Moldovan Leu, since the purchasing price for gas increased 8.9% from MDL 4,742 to MDL 5,164 per 1,000 cu m, InfoMarket was said at the National Energy Regulatory Agency.

In January-September 2014 as compared with the same period of 2013, amounts of useful supply of gas in Moldova decreased 6.4% to 599.7 million cu m in physical terms and 6.4% to MDL 3 billion 670.4 million in value ones. Over the first 9 months of 2014 the population of Moldova reduced the gas consumption by 6.6% to 181.5 million cu m in natural terms and 6.7% to MDL 1 billion 198.4 million in monetary ones. Energy sector enterprises used 243.6 million cu m of gas amounting to MDL 1 billion 378.2 million.

They reduced the gas consumption 9.5% both in natural and value terms. At the same time, enterprises of the non-energy sector increased gas consumption by 0.4% to 149.3 million cu m in natural terms and 0.1% to MDL 929.9 million in value ones.

The gas consumption by public sector entities declined 11.8% to 25.2 million cu m in natural terms and 11.9% to MDL 163.9 million in value ones. In January-September 2014, the biggest share in the structure of gas consumption was made by energy enterprises and was 40.6%. Household customers made up the 30.3% share, economic agents and budget-financed institutions making 24.9% and 4.2% respectively.
