OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2014. At press conference Expert Grup CEO Andrian Lupusor said in September-October, 2014, wine exports from Moldova to the EU grew 26% against the same period of 2013, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and others being key Moldova’s wine importers.

The apple exports soared 2.7 times, mostly thanks to the greater export to Romania. Andrian Lupusor pointed out that against September-October, 2013, in the same period of this year a number of companies exporting apples to the EU increased from 4 to 11. Table grapes exports rocketed 5.8 times, the grapes being sold to Romania, Poland, Sweden and other countries. A number of the grapes exporting companies grew 4 times to 16.

The plums exports increased 8.1 times. The key importers of Moldovan plumes were Romania, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Poland. A number of plum exporters rose from 3 to 16. In September-October, 2014, the grain exports soared 77%. The grain was chiefly sold to Bulgaria, Greece and Romania. According to Andrian Lupusor, in the reporting period, Moldovan exporters started selling a new product to the EU - ethyl alcohol. It was bought by Greece, Germany and Cyprus.

The agricultural export grew in volumes in October, while in September farmers were analyzing new markets and new market rules, Andrian Lupusor notes. In January-September 2014, the agricultural exports to the EU grew 15% against the same period for the past year, which has made it possible to cover the losses caused by the Russian sanctions and keep the export volumes unchanged compared to the past year.
