OREANDA-NEWS. On November 23, 2014 at 01:59, in accordance with the planned application and permission of the energy system dispatcher, the power unit №3 of the Balakovo NPP (Saratov region) was disconnected from the network for refueling and conducting of the preventative maintenance.

Unloading and stopping of the power unit was done in accordance with the technological regulations of safe operation and without any notes. In this case, there were no deteriorations of the radiation situation, violations of limits and conditions of safe operation.

The radiation situation in the area of the Balakovo NPP stays unchanged and rates correspond to the natural background radiation (natural) values for the European part of Russia - 0.08-0.1 microSievert / hour.

There are operating power units №№1, 2 and 4 with a total load of 3200 MW at the moment at the Balakovo NPP.
