OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) has been declared winner of CII Industrial Innovation Award-2014 in the category Service Sector: Large Enterprise. The award was presented by Mr. Udayant Malhoutra Chairman, CII National Committee on Design to Team Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. at a glittering ceremony organized today at Knowledge Expo, India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

The award was presented to TPDDL on the basis of the innovative Case Studies submitted by the company. The case studies were titled "Last Mile AT&C Loss Reduction by Empowering Slum Cluster Consumers through CSR Intervention", Customer Satisfaction through UV Retardant LT XLPE Cable Design" and "All Time Collection Module (ATCM).

Over 100 companies participated in the CII Industrial Innovation Awards and after initial screening 65 companies were shortlisted for a Site Visit by the jury. Out of this, 23 Companies were called for the final round of presentation to the Grand Jury from manufacturing and service sectors at the Knowledge Expo Center, Greater Noida. TPDDL was the only service sector organization to win prize in any award category.

The nomination for the award was judged by a distinguished jury panel comprising of 14 industry experts including - Mr. Anand Anadalingam, Dean - Imperial College Business School; Mr. Anil Gupta, Founder, Honey Bee Network Member; Mr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow; Mr. R.K. Shevgaonkar Director IIT Delhi and Mr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Lucknow among others.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO&ED, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. said "We are extremely happy for being awarded as the most innovative company in the large scale enterprise service category. The acknowledgement will further strengthen our resolve to bring innovative changes in the field of power distribution."

CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2014 recognizes and acknowledges innovative Indian enterprises across industry segments including those from manufacturing and services sector amongst Large, Medium and Micro & Small Enterprises. The purpose of the awards is to encourage business growth through innovation.
