OREANDA-NEWS. Octyabrysky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, a part of JSC Transmashholding) has completed a contract with Petersburg Metro for supply of 52 metro cars of 81-714/717 model, as per the Holding's PR department.

The supply contract for new metro cars was signed in February this year.

New cars meet advanced comfort, power efficiency and operating reliability requirements.

Passenger saloons are fitted with abrasion resistant materials that can be fully removed from dirt stains, unapproved lettering and advertisement. Sofas in cars are anti-vandal either. All of this will guarantee cleanness and endurance of car equipment with minimal maintenance costs.

Air ducts and vent grids distribute air flow evenly in a passenger saloon.

At customer's request, cars on external end walls are equipped with accessories that prevent passengers from falling on the track between cars.

Metro cars produced by OEVRZ have been successfully operated in metro of Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk since 2010. In this period, the plant has built 196 metro cars of model 81-714/717.
