OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2014. The annual volume of investments in the electrical energy industry of Kazakhstan has increased 5 times over 5 years of cap rates implementation. The volume of investments amounted to 700 billion tenge.
This has been announced by Vice Minister of Energy Bakhytzhan Dzhaksaliyev during the Energy Forum on "Innovations in energy Kazakhstan 2050".
“We live in market environment, so conditions should be created, not only forcing, but also adequately stimulating energy enterprises to use modern innovative technologies in its work. Our policy of energy management follows this vector of development. What is done in this direction? I would not like to stay on the 90s and the beginning of 2000, I will focus on the latest, most climactic five-year period, during which the so-called policy of "cap rates" is being implemented,” B. Dzhaksaliyev said.
According to him, the introduction of cap rates gave the opportunity to plan capital-intensive operations on restoring the resource, developing power, on the basis of their financial capabilities and with the involvement of large bank loans before 2015. "Over the 5 years of cap rates implementation annual volume of investments in the electricity has been increased by 5 times, and as of today about 700 billion tenge have been invested," he stressed.
Further on he said that it allowed to modernize the existing 5000 MW and to introduce additional electrical capacity in the amount of 1700 MW. As a result it fully covered the NP FIID needs in electricity. Until the end of the year this figure will reach 3300 MW.
