OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2014. The tasting of three brands of Moldovan wine, broadcasted on the Fox News TV channel, has been watched by 7 million TV viewers.

In an interview with Infotag, Deputy Director of the USAID CEED II [Competitiveness Enhancement and Enterprise Development Project] Diana Lazar said that the tasting of wines on the popular American TV channel is due to Moldovan wine presentation, organized in the USA by the National Office for Wine and Vine with the CEED II assistance in late summer 2014.

According to administration of the National Office for Wine and Vine, well-known American Master of Wine Christi Canterbury has chosen by herself Moldovan wines, which she tasted in the "Wine with me" show.

The Infotag interviewee explained that the Master of Wine has chosen Moldovan wines brands she already knows, in quality and taste of which she is sure.

During the TV show, the following wines have been tasted: Saperavi 2011 (by Moldo-American Company Lion Gri), Et cetera cuvee rouge 2012 (Alexander Luchianov) and Chardonnay Exceptional 2011 (Asconi Company).

President of the Lion Gri Company Gregory Sonic said to Infotag correspondent that Lion Gri wines are being sold on the American market for already over 20 years.

"Americans like our "Pinot Gri", they often compare it with the Santa Margarito (Italia), though giving preference to our brand", noted he.

Gregory Sonic says that Lion Gri is supplying to the American market such trade marks as Shiraz, Malbec, Saperavi, Merlaut.

"Clones of these varieties of grapes are being cultivated in the USA also, but Moldovan soil and sun give grapes and wines, made of these, a peculiar piquancy, liked by many Lion Gri wines consumers in the USA", concluded the Lion Gri Company President.
