OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2014. In October 2014, Estonian Air carried altogether 51 224 passengers, an increase of 15.3% compared to the same month last year when Estonian Air carried 44 433 passengers. In October Estonian Air operated 1097 flights, an increase of 22.0%.

In the first ten months Estonian Air carried altogether 471 448 passengers, a decrease of 0.2% compared to 2013. In the same period, Estonian Air operated 9292 flights, which is 1.2% more compared to the same period last year.

“We are pleased to see strong traffic growth for Estonian Air for several months. A greater number of flight destinations and active operations in the charter market contributed to this positive development,” comments Indrek Randveer, the CCO of Estonian Air.  “The same time we have to take measures to respond on the impact of unstable situation in Ukraine which have negative impact on our results on Kiev route and other Eastern routes, and intensified international competition,” added Randveer.

The 15-minute punctuality of Estonian Air flights in the first ten months was 92.9%, an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The regularity was 99.2%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year. In October the punctuality was 94.6 and regularity 98.5 percentage.

Estonian Air is aiming to provide Estonia with reliable and regular double daily connections to destinations of strategic importance and of substantial demand. Being a small country on the edge of Europe, Estonia depends on such connections, and Estonian Air is committed to provide these services.
