Romania to Provide Coal to Socially Vulnerable Groups from Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2014. A Memorandum of understanding on supplying coal to support the socially vulnerable groups will be implemented in Moldova in the winter of 2014-2015.
The document was signed in Chisinau today, within the agreement on general framework and cooperation conditions in development sector between the Romanian and Moldovan governments.
The memorandum was signed by Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu.
Andrian Candu highlighted that the memorandum's signing was the manifestation of huge efforts taken by the Romanian and Moldovan governments, being a very important moment in the bilateral ties between the two states. „About 25,000 families will benefit from this project during a year,” Candu said.
For his part, Bogdan Aurescu said that four memorandums of understanding in amount of 7 million euros were signed in Chisinau, on 14 November. „This project has a significant importance from social viewpoint and shows the solidarity that Romania has towards the socially vulnerable groups from Moldova,” Aurescu said.
The two-million-euro-worth project will be implemented by the Economics Ministry and company SA Combustibil Solid.
