OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2014. Within the framework of the “State program of introducing digital television broadcasting in the Republic of Belarus till 2015" a network of digital multiple program transport streams  and  synchronization reference delivery to digital transmitters has been constructed  using multiplex equipment  on IO activity of  digital multiple program transport streams.

Today, the network delivers multiple program transport stream to all operating 77 radio and television transmitting stations (RTTS) and provides:

- guaranteed quality of TV broadcasts;
- proper functioning of a channel on all its extent;
- 100% reservation of a channel in case of emergency on the communication networks;
- organization of transfer through  high-speed fiber-optic communication lines.

The constructed network enables to provide simultaneous broadcasting of television and radio programs to analog transmitters and digital software package to a digital transmitter at all existing RTTS during the transitional period until 2015.

In 2011 RUE Beltelecom together with NSTRC completed the organization of regional inserts in the channels Belarus-1, Belarus-2, NTV-Belarus in the regional centers. Regional inserts are performed by the order of the regional authorities.

As of November 11, 2014 the population coverage by DVB-T digital TV broadcasting standard of the first layer of the national coverage is already 97.81%.

From the beginning of the realization of the state program Beltelecom has invested 83.5 bln Belarusian rubles in the implementation of the "State program of introducing digital television and radio broadcasting in the Republic of Belarus till 2015". The construction of the network continued in 2014, so during 9 months in 2014 66.1 km of fiber optic cable (FOC) have been laid. It is planned to lay about 122 km of FOC and organize broadcasting on 8 newly constructed RTTS by the end of 2014. All in all 355.57 km of FOC have been laid since 2011.

In accordance with the plan of the first layer of the national coverage of digital terrestrial television coverage network it is planned to install digital transmitters on 91 RTTS until 2015. It is also planned to introduce 7 additional RTTS in 2015.
