OREANDA-NEWS. The volume of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up about 100.309 trillion soums in the first nine month of 2014, or grew by 8.1% year-on-year, according to preliminary data.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the industrial production rose by 8.4% in the reporting period and reached 54.401 trillion soums.

In January-September 2014, the volume of production of agriculture goods rose by 6.8% year-on-year and reached 28.094 trillion soums. The investments into fixed capital reached 23.831 trillion soums or grew by 10.7% year-on-year.

The volume of constructions works increased by 18.9% year-on-year in January-September 2014 and reached 15.034 trillion soums.

About 1.1 billion tonnes of freight were transported in Uzbekistan in the first nine months of 2014, which rose by 4.9% year-on-year. The freight turnover reached 63.533 billion tonnes-km (+2.7%).

Passenger transportation hit 5.281 billion people in January-September 2014. The growth rate made up 4.8% year-on-year. The passenger turnover rose by 5.5% to 72.487 million passenger-km.

Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 41.664 trillion soums in Janaury-September 2014, which grew by 14.2% year-on-year. The volume of services rose by 14.7% year-on-year to 57.197 trillion soums in January-September 2014.

In the reporting period, foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan exceeded USD 21.277 billion and rose by 0.6% year-on-year.

The exports of Uzbekistan reached USD 11.097 billion (+0.2% year-on-yea) and imports - USD 10.78 billion (+0.9%). Foreign trade surplus reached USD 916.8 million.
