Kazakhstan, China Discuss Economic Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2014. Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev has held a meeting with Vice Minister (Assistant Secretary) of Commerce of People’s Republic of China Daochi Tun.
"China is the closest neighbor and strategically important trade and economic partner for Kazakhstan, we have quite friendly and allied political connections," Yerbolat Dossayev said.
The parties also discussed issues of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, the preparations for the upcoming visit of Premier of the State Council of the PRC Li Keqiang to Kazakhstan in December.
"Taking into consideration that China is one of the world's largest investors, we expect a significant increase of investment activity in Kazakhstan after the introduction of a new package of incentives for investors," Minister said.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in January-September 2014 amounted to USD 13.3 billion.
The inflow of direct investment from China to Kazakhstan in the period from 2005 to the 1st half of 2014 amounted to more than USD 11.8 billion. (Mainly in construction, mining and oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan).
