OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2014. GAZ Group Bus Division delivered to the Nizhny Novgorod Administration 30 low-floor articulated buses LIAZ-621322 of the highest in Russia environmental standard Euro-5. All vehicles are adapted to passengers with limited mobility. Total cost of the buses is more than 300 million rubles.

New buses have already started working on the busiest passenger routes of Nizhny Novgorod during peak hours. From June to September the LIAZ buses were used by the municipal enterprise Nizhegorodpassazhirautotrans in the test mode. Buses are equipped with diesel Euro-5 engines MAN with power of 290 hp, a six-speed automatic gearbox and ZF axles.

Oleg Kondrashov, Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration: “Purchase of articulated buses is the first step in our plans to renovate the municipal bus fleet of the city. We purchased these vehicles to unload the bus stops, to make rides of a large number of passengers at peak hours faster and more comfortable”.

The bus LiAZ-621322 is the first domestic low-floor articulated bus. Such vehicles are mainly used in large cities with high traffic, such as Moscow and St. Petersburg. Due to the low level of the floor, providing a convenient passenger loading/unloading, the time of buses travel along the route is reduced by 15%. Spacious interior, convenient wheelchair areas provide a high speed of the passenger traffic.

The bus is designed to transport 146 people. There are 34 seats and an extra seat for people with limited mobility. LiAZ-621322 is equipped with a body tilting system “kneeling” (a body tilt to the side of the doors equal to 7°), a mechanical ramp, buttons of communication with the driver, a fire extinguishing system, air conditioning and ten CCTV cameras.
