OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2014. POSCO hosted the `2014 POSCO Group Partners Day`, sharing the results of shared growth activities during the year and declaring taking-off for the shared growth of POSCO Group.

More than 300 members attended the POSCO Center event, including CEO Kwon Oh-joon, chair of the Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership Ahn Chung young as well as presidents of 11 POSCO group companies and employees of both primary and secondary small and medium-sized enterprises.

After awarding enterprises for the best cases of shared growth, POSCO announced a shared growth action plan for the next 10 years, as it symbolically marked the 10th anniversary of the introduction of result sharing system by looking to the next decade. In addition, there was also an agreement ceremony and vision declaration ceremony held to promote shared growth.

Furthermore, additional events were held for small and medium-sized enterprises such as presentations of the best cases and case panels, program guides and counseling for shared growth, as well as a portal experience booth for shared growth and an event titled `tree of hope`.

The award for the best case of shared growth activity was presented in four categories: executive shared growth support group, shared results, technology cooperation, and QSS+. Thirteen enterprises were presented with a special excellence award, given alongside the four best tasks in each sector. The excellent department for shared growth was established this year to encourage participation in the result sharing system, with the Electrical Steel Department in Pohang and Craftsman Ironwork Department in Gwangyang selected as awardees.

POSCO constantly strives to improve. To go beyond the corporate social responsibility (CSR) which is one-sided support-oriented, and lead the national economic development in pursuit of creating shared value(CSV) announced an action plan for shared growth in which POSCO and small and medium-sized enterprises can make growth together.

Then, CEO Kwon Oh-joon, chairman of the Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership Ahn Chung young and CEO of Chosun Refractories Co. Kim Hae bong, the representative of small and medium-sized enterprises, signed an agreement for action on shared growth. This agreement signaled a commitment to act in good faith to implement the action plan for shared growth.

The agreement includes: creating shared value by expanding result sharing system, ?promoting overseas routes and supporting stable management activities for small and medium-sized enterprises, spreading shared growth culture to venture businesses and secondary and third companies, and a sustained effort by POSCO, small and medium-sized enterprises and the Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership to enhance bilateral communications with small and medium-sized enterprises.

After the agreement ceremony, group companies representing the business groups of POSCO and the primary and secondary small and medium-sized enterprises jointly declared `Win-Win for the Great`, a vision of shared growth and expression of the firm commitment to implement the action plan agreement. This means that POSCO group and small and medium-sized enterprises are together winning the fight for a better future.

CEO Kwon Oh-joon emphasized, ``Just as crops are harvested in autumn and saved for winter, I hope this can be a meaningful platform for secure growth and sustainability in the future. It is a clear expression of far POSCO and small and medium-sized enterprises can grow together by enhancing technical skills and product quality. Let`s overcome this crisis together by participating in creative and innovative activities.``

The event enables POSCO to grow alongside small and medium-sized enterprises and promote more mature and developed shared growth over the next 10 years by showcasing best case examples and making up for areas of improvement.
