OREANDA-NEWS. The interregional conference Quality Is the Basis of Competitiveness of the Modern Automobile Industry will be held today and tomorrow in the IT-park of Naberezhnye Chelny. The event is organized by OJSC KAMAZ, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Povolzhsky Quality Center Group of Independent Companies.

The conference is expected to be attended by Ravil Zaripov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Industry and Trade; Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ; and Adil Shirinov, First Vice President - Executive Director of Ford-Sollers JV. Their speeches will open the conference. Then speeches will be delivered by Ildar Mingaleev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan (State Policy of the Republic of Tatarstan Aimed at Improving Competitiveness of the Automotive Cluster), Igor Korovkin, Executive Director of NP Association of Russian Automakers (Russian Automotive Industry - Implementation and Outlook), and Andrey Lotsmanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Technical Regulation, Standardization and Conformity Assessment (Questions on Implementation of the Customs Union Technical Regulations). The conference program includes reports and speeches from top managers of automobile companies, including KAMAZ.

On the second day round table meetings, information and consultation workshops will be held. Their subjects are the main directions of development of automobile industry suppliers, the issues of service and quality of components and assemblies of mass-produced and new KAMAZ vehicles, the ways to improve their quality and reliability, and also quality management.

In addition, the participants of the conference will visit enterprises where modern quality management systems were introduced based on the requirements of international standards - OJSC KAMAZ, OOO Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok and JV KNORR-BREMSE KAMA.
