OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2014. According to the Ministry of Economy, this agreement was reached at the meeting of the Vice-Prime Minister, the Minister of economy Andrian Candu with the representatives of the oil companies operating in Moldova.

During the conversation the parties has focused on a range of issues relating to the dynamics of the fuel prices on the external market, modernization and adaptation of petrol stations to EU standards, as well as issues related to the energy security of the country. At the meeting, the agreement was reached on the further reduction of oil prices in Moldova. Oil traders announced to the Vice-Prime Minister that lower prices will result in losses in conditions, when the exchange rate is unstable.

Andrian Candu promised to discuss this issue with the NBM President. "I will meet with the President of the National Bank of Moldova, and we will discuss this question. The goal is to provide the consumers with fuel at the fair, a lower price, which at the same time should not have a negative impact on the oil industry," said Andrian Candu.

As it was noted in the Ministry of economy, the reduction in the fuel prices occurs after the reduction in price of petroleum products at the end of October, when, after a meeting with the Minister of economy traders reduced fuel prices by about 50 bani per liter.
