OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2014. PT Pertamina (Persero) was ready to multiply the amount of transportable diesel fuel packed dealers for fishermen (SPDN) to ease access and increase supply certainty to fishermen who are eligible to get subsidized fuel.

Pertamina Marketing and Trading Director Hanung Budya said that as of October 2014, the company had distributed 1.5 million KL subsidized Premium and diesel fuel to fishermen. As of today, he continued, the fishermen got the supply from 1,277 units of distributors in the form of fuel station for fishermen (SPBN), SPDN, fuel station for bunker, general fuel stations (SPBU), APMS and TBBM.

In line with the government program to improve the welfare of fishermen, Pertamina accelerated the development of special distributing agencies for fishermen the transportable SPDN pattern. Transportable SPDN was SPDN which was specially designed by using mobile fuel tanks with the capacity of 10 KL so that it could reach more small port areas. Thus, this system would ease the access of fishermen to subsidized fuels.

“Pertamina will provide 10 units of transportable SPDN in Pantura, Java Island, this year as part of the company’s effort to provide easier access and certainty of supply to fishermen so that indirectly, it is expected to help improve their welfare,” Hanung said amid a visit to Tanjung Pasir SPDN in Tangerang.

Hanung continued that to ensure that supply of fuel for fishermen reached the right targets, Pertamina had cooperated with banks and the Ministry of Maritime and Fishery to create fuel cards for fishermen. With the cards, he said, one ship would get one card that could be used to buy subsidized fuels.

“The use of the cards will support the government program to compile data on the amount of fishermen ships that are eligible to buy subsidized fuels. This data compiling can be used as the basic to set up the quota of subsidized fuels for fishermen,” he said
