UTair Carries More than 100,000 LUKOIL Group Employees
OREANDA-NEWS. UTair Aviation has won a LUKOIL Group tender to transport oil field professionals on special rotational flights from Ufa and Samara to Kogalym in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The flights will be performed from October 2014 to September 2015 with Boeing 737-500 aircraft. UTair expects to transport more than 100,000 passengers on these two routes over this period.
UTair's positive long term cooperation with the LUKOIL Group on various projects involving dedicated air transport services, the exceptional level of safety and dependability of UTair flights as well as favorable terms for cooperation were deciding factors in the selection of UTair Aviation for the contract for rotational transportation. "Winning the tender once again confirmed the position of UTair Group as the largest provider for a wide range of air transport operations for companies in the Russian oil and gas sector," said UTair-Passenger Airlines President Oleg Semenov.
UTair Aviationranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2013 UTair Aviation aircraft transported 9,625,295 passengers and the combined UTair Group fleet transported 10,413,803 passengers. UTair Aviation operates more than 150 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and abroad. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs more than 100 flights daily.
