OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2014. Under the frame of a determination, issued by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), “CONNECT” Ltd. reduced the tariffs for the service of connecting fixed zonal networks to the network of long-distance and international telephony in the Russian Federation from 150,000-300,000 Rub/1 Е1 to 30,000 and 39,000 RUB/1 Е1.

Also the service for “booking / using network resources” is excluded from the list of services rendered by “CONNECT” Ltd. under the contracts for connecting telecommunications networks.

Earlier, “Megafon” OJSC petitioned to the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Tomsk region that “CONNECT” Ltd. was imposing economically unreasonable, monopolistically high prices for the service of connecting at the international level to the company’s network of long-distance and international telephony in the Tomsk region.

On 17 June 2013, FAS found that “CONNECT” Ltd. violated the antimonopoly law (Clauses 1, 3, 6 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”). The company fixed excessive tariffs for connecting to its network of long-distance and international communications in the constituent territories of the Russian Federation, imposed services in concluding a contract for connecting telecommunications networks and unreasonably fixed different prices (tariffs) for the services of connecting to their network for the operators that have a considerable position in the public network and operators that do not have such positions.

Upon investigating the case, FAS issued a determination to “CONNECT” Ltd. to stop the violation.
