SFO Announces Agreement with Wingz
OREANDA-NEWS. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today announced an agreement with Wingz, permitting the Transportation Network Company (TNC) to operate legally at the Airport. The pilot permit allows drivers to pick up and drop off at SFO. The company plans to begin operations at the Airport within the next 30 days.
"We are pleased to provide another transportation option at SFO," said Airport Director John L. Martin. "This agreement reflects our commitment to new business concepts like Wingz, and our responsibility to ensure safe, reliable service for our customers."
"Wingz is the first community transportation network focused on providing scheduled rides to airports," said Wingz CEO Geoff Mathieux. "Now San Francisco travelers going to or from SFO have the option to schedule a USD 35 flat rate private ride with an awesome trained and background-checked driver."
Last month, SFO announced agreements with Sidecar, Lyft and UberX. Each permit provides for a 90-day pilot program, which allows the Airport to evaluate how the new business affects roadway traffic and make necessary adjustments as needed.
