OREANDA-NEWS. Kaliningrad automotive cluster "Autotor" downgraded the forecast of decline in production of cars in 2014 to 24% from 8.3% that announced earlier. It was stated by Chairman of the Board of Directors "Autotor holding", Valery Gorbunov.

"As you remember, the most successful year we had 2012-th - 257,000 vehicles. In 2013 - 244 000, it will be about 185,000 cars this year. Fall - is not a drop in capacity. We hope that the market is not frozen completely, so we were left without work", - the agency "TASS" cited Mr.Gorbunov.

Earlier the CEO of "Autotor Holding", Alexander Sorokin, informed "TASS" that the company predicts a decrease in car production in 2014 by 8.3% compared to 2013, up to 220 thousand cars. According to Mr.Gorbunov, the decline in production in 2014 could reach 24%.

At the moment "Autotor" has four production sites. The company plans to begin the production of a full cycle in 2016, by creating new production capacity and by using existing platforms for the production of automotive components. In 2016, there will be removed privileges, which are used by the holding company. At the same time, "Autotor" has a "dormant" agreement on "industrial assembly", which will be used as part of the start of production of a full cycle. The cluster will produce 250,000 cars a year. Now at "Autotor" there are assembled passenger cars and commercial vehicles of brands BMW, KIA, Huindai, GM and other companies.
