OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. in the current financial year, which will be closed on March 31st, 2015, downgraded the forecast for growth in car sales by 3.5% relative to the previous estimate.

According to "Finmarket" agency, now the company plans to sell in the current financial year 5,450,000 cars, ie it is less by 200 thousand cars. Nissan explains it by the fact that record sales of cars in the US will not be able to compensate fully the decline in the Chinese auto market.

The automaker has downgraded the forecast for the sales of cars in China in calendar 2014 by 11% - up to 1.27 million Units. Nevertheless, it is more by 4.4% than the last year. In the US, the company plans to sell 1.41 million cars this financial year, which is more by 9.7% than the last year.

Despite the expected decline in sales, the company has not changed its forecasts for operating and net profit, which is connected with an increase in sales in North America, by the company's cost reduction, as well as the benefits of the exchange rate on the foreign currency.
