OREANDA-NEWS. A total of 2.3 million passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in October, equal to an increase of 7.1%. The year-to-date passenger numbers are up 7.1%, and Copenhagen Airport is heading towards a new passenger record for the year.

The interest in travelling and the growth at Copenhagen Airport continued. The the passenger number for October reached 2,330,985, making this the busiest October in the airport's almost 90-year history.

Things will have to go very wrong for us not to reach another passenger record this year. Moreover, our growth rate is high compared with our peers among the major European airports. This growth benefits not only the airport, but Danish society as a whole because it draws more tourists, more investment and more jobs," - said Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

International traffic was up by 7.6%, transfer traffic by an impressive 14.9%, and domestic traffic by 1.0 year on year.

Year-to-date passenger numbers have increased by 7.1% to 22.1 million. If performance during the rest of the year continues as expected, Copenhagen Airport will pass the 25 million passenger mark for the first time in 2014.
