E.ON Solution Saves up to 15% in Energy for Mineral Water Manufacturer
OREANDA-NEWS. E.ON's energy solutions business E.ON Connecting Energies (ECT) and world-leading mineral water manufacturer Acqua Minerale San Benedetto (AMSB) have entered into a long-term energy partnership, starting with the operation of a high-efficiency on-site generation solution for AMSB's production site in ScorzЁЁ near Venice.
ECT will build, own and operate a new 13.2 MW combined heat, cooling and power (CHCP) at AMSB's ScorzЁЁ plant. The new trigeneration facility is going to supply AMSB's production processes with approximately 100 GWh of electricity and around 70 GWh of thermal energy annually, including steam and chilled water. E.ON and AMSB expect the CHCP to be fully operational by end of 2015.
The E.ON solution will save AMSB up to 15% energy each year, and it will lead to a CO2 reduction of 17.300 estimated tons annually.
Mr. Zoppas of Acqua Minerale San Benedetto SpA, said: "The agreement with ECT is intended to reduce the energy costs and consequently improve our competitiveness. As sustainability and environmental responsibility are key words within all of the AMSB Group divisions, we are particularly satisfied with the high CO2 reduction achieved by E.ON's integrated solution."
Robert Hienz, CEO of E.ON Connecting Energies, commented: "We are delighted that AMSB has chosen ECT as partner for providing its ScorzЁЁ plant with efficient energy that we will generate for them directly at their site. This is another success for our distributed energy business in Italy which continues to establish energy partnerships to deliver significant cost and carbon savings to the industrial sector in the country."
Acqua Minerale San Benedetto SpA was founded in 1956 in ScorzЁЁ (Venice) and developed towards a globally leading beverages company today. In 2011, AMSB confirmed their commitment to a CO2 reduction towards the Ministry of the Environment, starting with the measurement of their carbon footprint, and to set a standard for the entire mineral water sector.
Shaping the energy of the future, E.ON Connecting Energies provides fully-integrated managed energy services to commercial and industrial customers as well as public sector organizations, connecting energy efficiency and on-site generation technologies with data analytics to deliver cost and carbon savings across buildings, equipment and processes.
