OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2014. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has participated in a meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow.

The meeting considered the most pressing issues in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, formation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The issues aimed at developing an effective activity of the Eurasian Economic Union in accordance with the Treaty on EEU signed on May 29.

In particular, common positions on issues of certification EEC staff, formation of tender committee for selection of candidates for positions in EEC with certain eligibility requirements were formulated. Addressing these issues will provide a basis for qualitative formation of the Commission.

The agreements to further work on improvement of customs legislation EEU were also reached. The priorities in this area are simplification of procedures and creation of an enabling environment for business.

During the meeting, the Council discussed the procedure of international cooperation by the Eurasian Economic Union that will ensure compliance with all international procedures and consideration of the interests of member states.

The Council approved a two-year plan for building the EEU integrated information system, which will ensure provision of complete and timely data and information as part of the integration process. The project will allow solving a wide range of issues of planning activities in various sectors of the economy in future.

In addition, the Commission approved the draft Agreement on coordination of actions to protect the rights of intellectual property, which will create the legal basis for implementation of information exchange and assist in combating violations of intellectual property rights.

In general, the results of the discussions reached a mutually beneficial agreement on key aspects of cooperation.
