USA Backs Moldova's Actions to Enhance Energy Security
OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2014. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu met Director of the Office for Eastern Europe at the U.S. Department of State Alexander Kasanof. The officials addressed issues referring to Moldova's energy security, ties with neighbouring countries, launched reforms and other important items on the bilateral agenda, the Economics Ministry's information and media communication service has reported.
Alexander Kasanof was very interested in the way the Moldovan-American ties were developing and to which extent the American side could ensure some aspects of the energy security of Moldova.
Alexander Kasanof specified that the USA was willing to provide the necessary support and encouraged Moldova's actions meant to enhance its energy security.
Andran Candu informed Kasanof about the effects of the embargo put by Russia to Moldovan products and said that the reasons tackled with those who applied them were strictly political and a revenge towards the decision to sign the Association Agreement with EU.
Candu also asked for support and attraction of American investors to Moldova.
Kasanof assured that the USA would back the re-examining of the economic policy and recommended to be created a friendly business environment, so that the American investors could enter this market.
