Lemtrans Byes 1,268 New Open Cars This Year
OREANDA-NEWS. Since the start of 2014, a freight forwarding company Lemtrans has bought 1,268 new open cars. Today its fleet consists of over 17,000 vehicles and will include 200 cars more by the year end according to the investment programme.
The CEO of Lemtrans Vladimir Mezentsev believes that the key goal of the company is to satisfy the customer demand for rolling stock. "The hostilities in Ukraine's east have caused long delays in car turnover, which calls for more vehicles to provide the necessary shipments," he said.
Lemtrans bought all open cars from a national producer, Popasnyansky Car Repair Plant, a strategic partner of the company. "In our challenging times it is also important to continue to maintain the flow of orders for rolling stock, thus helping to stabilise the situation in the railcar manufacturing industry," noted the CEO of Lemtrans.
Lemtrans is Ukraine's biggest private freight forwarding company that offers the full gamut of rail freight transport services. The areas of main focus include freight forwarding services in inland and outland transportation market and rolling stock repairs.
Today Lemtrans operates more than 17,000 vehicles. In 2013, the volume of transported freight exceeded 48.5m tonnes.
Lemtrans is wholly owned by SCM Group.
