OREANDA-NEWS. HOYA will be headline sponsor at the European Academy of Optometry and Optics' (EAOO) annual conference in Budapest 2015.

HOYA will also sponsor the clinical skills workshops at the Budapest conference which will be held from 14-17 May 2015. The conference is a joint meeting with the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO), in association with the Hungarian Craft Union of Private Opticians. It brings together key members of the optical community, from over 30 countries across Europe, to discuss and share the latest research, education and clinical practice and provides a platform to exchange knowledge and information on optometry, dispensing and vision science.

In 2010, HOYA established its HOYA Faculty Education & Experience Centre in Budapest in order to support opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists in their daily practice, improving their refraction skills and product knowledge and updating them on the latest developments in advanced vision screening, binocular vision enhancements, new design technologies and service tools. Since 2010, the HOYA Faculty has welcomed over 3,000 participants from all over the world.

Olga Prenat, optician and optometrist and Dean of HOYA Faculty: "HOYA is very proud to be the headline sponsor of the annual European Academy of Optometry and Optics' conference in Budapest this year. As we are very involved in the education of eye care professionals ourselves, we share the Academy's vision to harmonise and raise standards and practice in optometry and optics, to improve the quality of vision and to meet the optical demands today's society places on us."

President of EAOO, Paul Murphy, said: "The Academy is delighted to be working with HOYA in presenting our annual meeting in Budapest in 2015. This partnership will help optometrists and opticians in Europe to provide the best quality of vision care for our patients. With the support of HOYA, we will be able to offer a range of innovative workshops at their Faculty as part of our extensive conference programme. The EAOO conference is a unique forum to share best practice and one of the most influential and exciting optical events in Europe."
