Ukraine to Compensate Accommodation Costs for IDPs
OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2014. "To address issues of funding, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has prepared a draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers containing issues of temporary accommodation of citizens who had been temporary displaced as a result of the antiterrorist operation.
The specified project envisages the allocation for the regional state administrations of the funds worth UAH 15 million 932 thousand 500 to compensate for the cost of temporary housing for the citizens, who were accommodated in the sanatoriums and health institutions and institutions of social protection, as well as in hostels and hotels," said Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations Serhii Bochkovsky at a briefing at the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers on 10 November.
In addition, he recalled that on 7 November, the Government adopted a resolution containing certain issues of financing the budgetary institutions, social benefits for the population and financial support for certain enterprises and organizations of Donetsk and Luhansk regions", "which is called to protect the people who are staying on the temporary uncontrolled territories, but should obtain all the social reimbursement and wages from the state budget".
Serhii Bochkovsky noted that all social benefits guaranteed by the state, will be accrued, but from December 1, 2014 will be paid only to those citizens, including pensioners, who had moved to the controlled territory of Ukraine and registered in the departments of social protection as internally displaced persons. For those residents who remained on the uncontrolled territory, all social benefits, including pensions will be accrued, but will be paid only if the corresponding place has been liberated from the terrorists and taken under the state control.
